Golfo Aranci: The 5 Beaches And The Waterfront
Golfo Aranci is a charming fishing village easily accessible by car and public transport from Olbia. The village is known not only for its beauty, but also for its seafront promenade, for the five beaches located right in the heart of the village and for the presence of a permanent colony of dolphins that populates the waters of the gulf.
If you are looking for beautiful beaches, Golfo Aranci is certainly one of the places you must visit. There are five beaches in the village that are easily accessible on foot. Outside the village, you can swim at Cala Sabina, at Cala Sassari and at Spiaggi Bianca. All are equipped beaches that well preserve the characteristics of wild beaches immersed in the Mediterranean maquis.

Cala Moresca
Just outside the village you reach the Spiaggia dei Baracconi (Beach of Baracconi), continuing on foot along a dirt road to the enchanting bay of Cala Moresca, the wild pearl of the village.
Cala Moresca is famous for its two beaches and breathtakingly coloured sea. This beach is worth a visit, it is not equipped, so if you decide to go there, remember to take water and snacks with you.
In the area of Cala Moresca there are also buildings with a small site of industrial archaeology and a lime kiln.
For Walkers
If you love walking and would like to take a hike to visit the surroundings of Golfo Aranci, you can start from Cala Moresca and walk along the path that enters and climbs the headland of Capo Figari.
From Cala Moresca you can reach the Cimitero degli Inglesi with cala Greca, the Punta Filasca fort and the Carbonai path.
The English Cemetery is a small space bordered by a fence surrounded by Mediterranean scrub and typical plants. In this hidden and secluded place there are some ancient tombs on which a Celtic cross stands out, which led to the name "of the British"to this place.
The Traffic Light and Guglielmo Marconi
Starting from Cala Moresca one can also reach the Navy's Marconi Semaphore where on 11 August 1932 Guglielmo Marconi made the first microwave transmission between Capo Figari and Rocca di Papa.
Along the route there are information boards giving details of the flora, fauna and interesting historical facts about the area and the experiments conducted by Marconi.
Once you reach the summit you can enjoy a breathtaking view, from the summit you dominate the area at 360°, a vantage point with the Gulf of Olbia to the south, Capo Ceraso and the island of Tavolara, to the north the Soffi and Mortorio islands with Cala of Volpe, the La Maddalena Archipelago and Costa Smeralda.
How to get to Golfo Aranci
Golfo Aranci is located about 15 kilometres north of Olbia, and can be reached by train and bus from Olbia.
